WHAT IS THE UTILITARIAN VALUE OF OBASANJO'S PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY BUILT FROM CORRUPTION.
I do not know what to make of Obasanjo's Presidential Library but to wonder whether there is any element of utilitarian spirit in a ROBIN HOOD adventure being presented to us as something to celebrate.
Is Obasanjo now a folks hero robbing the rich and giving to the poor as justification for his utilitarian ideal?
Do we have a shadowy figure presenting us with a grotesque narrative of GOOD SAMARITANISM to cover up his corruption laden epoch of maladministration and seeking religious recompensement?
Is Obasanjo an egoistic utilitarian who derives pleasure and defines utility only from the fact that an action or event satisfy his self glorification first as a precondition for the satisfaction of the well-being of the masses. Therefore, it does not matter to him if the processes in achievement of such edifices in self aggrandisement are fraught with fraudulent machination. My view of the man Obasanjo is that he is an ego tripper and never a utilitarian.
I personally would not want to read nor borrow books from a Presidential Library built from influence peddling, mechanism of extortion and grand corruption. A library built via extortionism of co-opting various institutions of state to force corporate institutions and individuals to donate money for personal project or gains while wielding ernomous power as the Leader of Nigeria is not the appropriate environment for diligent intellectual exercise.
This is so because of the corrupt socio-moral and illegal philosophy underpinning the instrumentality of generating funds for the realization of such Library are larcenous in nature.
What kind of knowledge can come from such establishment that is built on lies, deceitful manipulations and arrogance of self righteousness than ''mumble jumble'' of momentos meant for self glorification and unbridled self aggrandisement with no positive intellectualism for national enlightenment but revisionist propaganda.
A look into the writings, speeches and impromptus outburst of Obasanjo reveal to us that this is a windbag imbued with an egoistic self-centeredness under the umbrella of sanctimoniousness who never see anything good in other people but himself Haba!!!
What lessons of intellectual discoveries can an impressionable mind internalize from an edifice built to glorify mediocrity.
Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose put it succinctly, “President Obasanjo must behave like a true statesman. His major weakness is that he does not see anything good in other people or what they do except what he does himself.” -www.abusidiqu.com
I cannot do otherwise but concur with Ayodele fayose statement here.
He Obasanjo must do a ritual purification to get rid of his obsessive compulsion of bad-mouthing others which is a character defficiency that Pastor Adeboye of RCCG must exorcise from him if he wants to be a true statesman.
