COSMOLOGY: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING AND BUHARI'S DEATH NARRATIVE.
A cosmology that denies death is in itself dead. If you do not want to die you should ask questions about your being alive because death is an uncomfortable but necessary condition associated with living.
He/she who lives must die anyway, anyhow, someday. As human beings we have no say in the matter right from the moment you are born your death certificate has been signed for posterity because it is a generational given.
Why then do we worry about dying or fake news about ones death? What is all the sentimentalism or sensationalism about? People should be happy to die as a celebration of life in the service of mankind most especially if you have attained septuagenarian. Death should be seen as an accomplishment that comes with longevity and not a curse.
I do not wish the president dead but it is important to note that our roads in life are always rough and death is one of the many rough roads we have to wandle as an existential compulsariness so what is this much ado about nothing concerning the death of a mere mortal. (Apology to Shakespeare)
Socrates, Martin Luther King, Ado Bayero, Pope John Paul, Magreth Thatcher, Napoleon Bonarparte, Mahatma Gandhi were all powerful human beings but when death came calling they all yielded to the songs of the inevitable.
Where do we get our own cosmology that denies death and see it as a curse and a tragedy to wish away?
Why do we fear dying when we are dispensable humanoids? Specifically, to live in reality is to agree to perish someday both have logical relationships. What is this much ado about nothing concerning the death of the president when the death of God was pronounced in Thus Spoke Zarathustra written by Friedrich Nietzsche in his philosophical tradition. Has such pronouncement in Thus Spoke Zarathustra led to the death of God in reality within the communes of men? My answer to that is essentially No.
Why do we not take a rational view or analytical methodology in approaching this fake news rather than playing to the gallery of emotions which is not helping anyone or the Nation. The death of the president is not the death of Nigeria conversely the fake news about the death of the president to my mind is proclaiming the longevity of life for the occupant of that exalted office.
It is instructive to note from my previous submission that death is a given, we live to die we do not live to live forever. I am not scared of dying anyday, anytime, anyhow, somehow because there is nothing I can do about it. Please do not get me wrong I am not advocating reckless lifestyle or fatalism we can do a lot to live longer but what we cannot change is the spatio-temporalism of death when it comes calling, so what is this much ado about nothing concerning the death of the president.
I wish the president long life and prosperity but do not put sentimentalism in the public space as a negation of fake news about the death of the president; glad though that commonsense prevailed with the presentation of photos showing the president in company of other officials that is the methodology that works not asking for prayers that are of no significance in the administration of men or governance.
We need to stop the myth of wishing away death because to do so is to deny reality and the renewal of life a new beginning.
