@APCNIGERIA: IMPERATIVE OF CHANGE; DOGARA, JIBRIN, AND THE IDPs CONUNDRUM.

According to Cicero ''If you wish to persuade me, you must think my thought, feel my feelings, and speak my words.''
If you want to influence others you must be able to get into their mindset to manipulate their thinking, attitude and other elements of their behavioural mix. We do know that humans often act in their own self interest therefore the methodology adopted in the course of persuasion shall determine whether they would act accordingly or as expected.

Uhm! the slogan nowadays ''Corruption not in my Country'' intertwined with ''Change begins with me'' our consciousness raising blueprint to address our socio-moral inadequacies with their multiple ramifications going forward look to me as if some sections of our society do not feel obligated to respond to these clarion calls.

Firstly, the Dogara and Jibrin budget padding conundrum with its characteristic @ApcNigeria crisis management blunder in recent times has left me wondering if the centrepoint philosophy of government's reorientation campaign is penetrating the mindset of members of our House of representatives given the rowdiness of the session devoted to suspend whistleblower Abdulmumin Jibrin.

What immediately comes to mind was anguish, exasperation when I heard the news of an attempt to do what most Nigerians would consider sacrilegious given the enormity of the crime he has alleged to have been committed by principal officers of the House of representative one would think and expect that the best and rightful action under this circumstance is to let the Ministry of justice do surgical investigation of Abdulmumin Jibrin allegation rather than intimidation tactics now being deployed to silence him.
However, it is too late because the dirty linen is already in the public domain, please note that any attempt to cover up these messy revelations would justify the claims of those who opined that the campaign "Change begins with me" is dead on arrival because they cannot recall any exemplary actions in the direction of current leadership and officialdom.

Secondly, the emerging horrifying pictures and narratives coming from the internally displaced persons smack of grand corruption and abuse of fundamental human rights. How do we explain Hunger, Malnutrition, Rape, kidnapping, Prostitution and Human trafficking in the various camps. This is a mystery to me given the level of security and funds generated from various donors by the committee responsible for the internally displaced persons. Who is doing what and how are the funds disbursed?.

Nigerians need thorough explanation from the government because we are not looking good in the eyes of the world despite the massive support given by the international community in respect of the welfare of these refugees in various camps. How come we still find it difficult to have hands on approach to the management and organisation of the camps.

Our anti-corruption war it seems to me has not gotten to those perpetrators maybe they have not heard the slogan ''Corruption not in my Country'' because we still hear everyday the same ugly stories of henious crimes in the camps, if that is the case we need to persuade them accordingly before we have holocaust or some kind of genocide in the camps of the internally displaced persons.

''Corruption not in my Country'' is a categorical imperative just as "Change begins with me" is unconditional no matter who you are.
