JUSTICE FOR SALE: CORRUPTION A PHENOMENON BEYOND RELIGION AND OUR BUDGET OF RATS AND DEVILS.
2003 UN Convention against Corruption: Article 5(1) Each State Party shall, in accordance with the fundamental principles of its legal system, develop and implement or maintain effective, coordinated anticorruption policies that promote the participation of society and reflect the principles of the rule of law, proper management of public affairs and public property, integrity, transparency and accountability.
Article 8(1) In order to fight corruption, each State Party shall promote, interalia, integrity, honesty and responsibility among its public officials, in accordance with the fundamental principles of its legal system.
(2) In particular, each State Party shall endeavour to apply, within its own institutional and legal systems, codes or standards of conduct for the correct, honourable and proper performance of public functions.
I do not think those charge with the drafting of the 2016 budget satisfy the requirements of intergrity, honesty and prudence as codes or standards of conduct for the correct, honourable and proper performance of their public functions in this case, given the budget of Rats and Devils presented to the National Assembly.

@APCNigeria Press Release from the Minister for budget & planning is not enough to stop the damage that has been done.

@APCNigeria It is inexcusable that we have a padded budget, these rats & devils proposals smell of corruption. Kill d rats & devils now.

@APCNigeria The honeymoon is over now is the time to show Nigerians that it not business as usual. This budget saga is now a dirt on change.
OTUNBA ADE ILEMOBADE @pearl2prince
@APCNigeria I am apprehensive. Those who did the damage must be punished severely. I am finding it difficult to convince pple in d diaspora.

@APCNigeria Even a secondary school student would not mess like what we are experiencing from the budget office. This is unprofessional.

@APCNigeria This budget has failed woefully, NASS is right on this point. If they pass the budget now, then that is sabotage.
This second piece is a reaction to the statements credited to two individuals David Oyedepo and Mr. Alegeh respectively.
''Corruption is an improbity or decay in the decision-making process in which a decision-maker consents to deviate or demands deviation from the criterion which should rule his or her decision-making, in exchange for a reward or for the promise or expectation of a reward, while these motives influencing his or her decision-making cannot be part of the justification of the decision''. -Dr. Petrus van Duyne:
According to Mr. Alegeh- “The NBA condemns in its entirety the generalisation and/or categorisation of the Judiciary as being corrupt and an impediment to the zero corruption policy of the present administration”
There are bad eggs in the criminal justice system in Nigeria Mr. Alegeh acknowledged.
I want to emphasis here that most especially in the judiciary those bad eggs are elements that have taken an upper hand within the system, leading to the generalization/categorisation of the Judiciary as being corrupt and an impediment to the zero corruption policy of the present administration.
If that imagery is the case so be it. The more we talk and generalise about the corruption in the judiciary the better for the society because such general categorisation would make those who feel stained in the process take action to redeem the image of the institution by exposing the bad eggs amongst them (Internal self cleansing).
''Equal treatment before the law is a pillar of democratic societies. When courts are corrupted by greed or political expediency, the scales of justice are tipped, and ordinary people suffer. Judicial corruption means the voice of the innocent goes unheard, while the guilty act with impunity'' -Huguette Labelle.
There are important lessons that we can derive from the Yoruba aphorism here (AGUNTAN TIO BA BA AJA RIN A JE IGBE) OR (TEWE BAPE LARA OSE A DI OSE) to illustrate the dilemma and the need for self purification in the temple of justice.
My message to Mr. Alegeh, expose the dirty Dogs amongst you/judiciary if you don't want a generic painting with the same filthy brush.
The absurdity of the religious elites thinking processes is vividly manifested and encapsulated in David Oyedepo's statement concerning the judicial pronouncement in respect of the governorship election in Akwa Ibom State.
David Oyedepo, founder and presiding bishop of Living Faith Church World Wide, also known as Winners’ Chapel, says the supreme court validation of the election of Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom state, is the triumph of “light over darkness”.-Abusidiqu.com
2 Timothy 3:1-5 ''You must realize, however, that in the last days difficult times will come. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, ... They will hold to an outward form of godliness ... Stay away from such people''.
My message to David Oyedepo is that elections and judicial pronouncements are not of God but of Man, judicial pronouncements are not ten commandments neither are judges God.
Judges are fallible and susceptible to all frailty associated with human being. Please stop the metaphysical miraculization of human actions or inactions that is given our people false hope.
Galatians 6:8 '' because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit''.
David Oyedepo is justifying corruption using the name of God (Corruption of God's name) thereby sowing to his own flesh with his statement over Akwa Ibom judicial pronouncement.
David Oyedepo et al are religious businessmen of hedonistic spirituality they stand up for the men of evil, condoning and supporting wickedness.
These jundiced rationalism presented on a tectonic plate of infamy by David Oyedepo is a common denominator in the mindset of our corrupt elites in all strata, which reflects a sheepish dogma amongst them that why get a lawyer when you can buy a judge.
The job of a lawyer for them is not to defend based on evidences and the principles of law but to procure judgement at whatever price necessary.
God save us from our evil men of God...
