WURA ATI FADAKA: PATIENCE @MBUHARI ASSET DECLARATION.

Many columnists and bloggers alike have written with deep moral engagement on the issue of asset declaration to the extent that it is becoming unbecomingly dehumanizing given the plethora of jundiced and uncouth words used in their columns while flexing their opinion on this controversial subject matter. I agree they are entitled to their views and they enjoy certain level of poetic license.

Some have gone to the lowest ebb in logical thinking in their attempt to paint the president black by creating a nexus between assets declaration and the supposedly lopsided appointments or the perceived injustices of the past or his performance within 100days, rightly or wrongly the jury is still out on these issues.

I am not presenting a brief for @mbuhari here, but we cannot judge the president performance in 100days, or all other issues raised above on the pedestal/question of asset declaration.

Those propagating such skewed rationalism are vultures living off the pain of the past.

Public declaration of assets has become a signpost, the test of the war against corruption and corrupt enrichment of public office holders. If you dont declare your assets publicly, you cant fight corruption.

I like to go further here and suggest that all civil servants must declare their assets, not only those categories mentioned in the constitution, because we do know that corruption and corruption related activities are wide spread amongst the lower cadre. Put differently they are partakers in disagreeable conducts.

"A kì í gbé odò jiyàn-an ọṣé hó tàbí kò hó. One does not sit by a river and argue whether the soap will foam or will not foam. Where the claim can be put to the test, verbal argument is foolish". _The Good Person.

The controversy generated by @mbuhari "lateness" in declaring his assets publicly in my opinion is not neccessary in the main because the Code of Conduct Bureau had given us an indication that they needed to verify the claims on the assets declaration form before any public statements can be made, that is if privacy law of the land permits divulging such information to a third party.

Apart from the above statement @mbuhari had given us the assurance that information on his assets shall be made public at the appropriate time, patience on the part of those clamoring with their vuvuzelas, coupled with their tantrum infested audiences is instructive here. Finally the news is out and assets have been declared publicly.

                                                                  Whats next?
